Border marker 1297 (also known as marker 1297/4) marks the boundary between Vietnam and China and is renowned as a "reeds paradise" that draws large numbers of visitors. Situated at an altitude of approximately 800 meters above sea level, the site boasts fresh air and sweeping, majestic views of the rugged border mountains.
The ideal time to visit and take photos at marker 1297 is during October and November. This is when the reeds burst into bloom, blanketing the rolling hills along the border in a sea of white. From the parking area, a gentle one-kilometer walk up a stepped path—surrounded by the sea of reeds—leads you right to the sacred marker.
