Ban Phung is a highland commune in Hoang Su Phi District, Ha Giang Province (now Tuyen Quang), renowned for its magnificent terraced rice fields. It is considered a unique natural masterpiece, featuring rolling terraces that wind around the distinctive stilt houses of the La Chi ethnic people.
The golden rice harvest season (September - October) marks the peak time for tourism, when the entire Ban Phung valley is bathed in a brilliant golden hue. Thanks to the high-altitude terrain, visitors can also easily witness a sea of clouds drifting over the village in the early morning.
