Dinh Mountain is a mountain range boasting pristine beauty, rising to an elevation of approximately 504 meters and covering an area of 30 km². Known as a "green lung," it is an ideal weekend destination for trekking, camping, and spiritual tourism, located just 80 km from Ho Chi Minh City.
Notable Attractions:
- La Ban Peak: The highest point of Dinh Mountain, this was formerly a military helipad. From this vast, flat rocky plateau, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Long Son Peninsula and the city sprawling at the mountain's base. It is also a popular spot among young people for sunset watching and overnight camping.
- Suoi Tien & Suoi Da (Fairy Stream & Stone Stream): These natural streams originate from the mountain peak, winding through rocky crevices to form small, crystal-clear pools. After an exhausting climb, soaking in the cool water amidst the shady forest canopy is a wonderfully relaxing experience.
- Hang Mai Pagoda & Hermitages: Dinh Mountain offers a serene spiritual atmosphere, featuring dozens of ancient pagodas nestled within the vast forest. The most prominent is Hang Mai Pagoda; situated high on the mountain peak, this sacred site evokes an ethereal, heavenly ambiance.
- Historical Sites: This area served as a strategic revolutionary base for the troops and people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau during the resistance wars against the French and the Americans.
Ideal Time to Visit: The dry season (January – May) is recommended, as the trails are dry and not slippery. Visiting during the rainy season (June – September) offers lush greenery and fuller streams, but you must pay close attention to the weather to ensure safety.
