Ba Vi National Park is one of the most ideal nature reserves and ecotourism destinations in Hanoi, spanning the Ba Vi mountain range and part of Hoa Binh province. Located about 50-60km west of the city center, it boasts a cool climate year-round, pristine mountain scenery, and a rich ecosystem of flora and fauna. Covering an area of over 9,700 hectares, it includes three major peaks: King Peak (1,296m), Tan Vien Peak (1,227m), and Ngoc Hoa Peak (1,131m). The best time to visit is from April to October (cool climate, a welcome escape from the capital's heat) or November (when the wild sunflowers bloom brightly along the mountain roads). Entrance fees range from 10,000 VND to 60,000 VND depending on the category (students, adults, etc.). The journey along the route from the foot of the mountain to the summit offers many attractive stops: - Pine Forest: An ideal spot for camping, taking photos, and weekend picnics. - Cactus Greenhouse: Home to over 1,200 unique cactus species with a glass dome architecture. - Old French Church: A secluded area of ancient French architectural ruins. - Upper Temple: Located on the summit of Tan Vien Mountain, dedicated to Saint Tan Vien Son Tinh (the leader of the Four Immortals of Vietnam). - Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple & Bao Thien Tower: Situated on the highest peak of the mountain, where you can offer incense and enjoy panoramic views of the Northern Delta from above.
